Berber Carpet Repair
Berber’s reputation for durability, stain resistance, and simple beauty make it a popular choice for homeowners and business owners alike. Berber is a looped pile carpet often made of durable polyester and nylon fiber. It’s generally tough, stain resistant, and can take a good deal of foot traffic. Because it’s made of looped pile, a continuous strand of fiber yarn woven into a nylon backing, it can quickly unravel when snagged by something sharp.
Pet claws, high heeled shoes, cleats, furniture, even your vacuum cleaner can snag berber pile. When snagged, the pile unravels, (similar to a hand-knit sweater) exposing bare carpet backing.
There may be a patch of damage or long runs of unraveled pile. In a commercial environment, damaged berber poses another concern: safety. Loose or unraveled pile can be a trip and fall hazard.
Virginia Carpet Cleaning and Repair pros can fix this!
Repair for small snags – there is a possibility that we can weave back in looped pile; this is a technical procedure with which all our technicians are skilled.
Repair for more extensive damage – for damage that’s impractical to manually weave back in missing looped fiber, we choose instead to cut out the damaged section. In its place we put in a matching permanent section, bonding it to the existing carpet so that it’s nearly unnoticeable.
We can source a carpet section from remnants you may have saved, from the carpeting in the back of a closet or we may be able to match to one of the many common types of carpet remnants we carry in our company trucks.
Have a snagged or otherwise damaged berber carpet? Don’t replace it, call us instead and ask about repairing it. It costs much less and we can have it looking like new again. Contact us to schedule berber repair service.
